LEONARDO EVRARD
Leonardo Evrard was deep in his studies of marketing, working part-time as a paramedic when art simply "hit" him. The possibilities of creating while working independently and being his own boss convinced him that he should follow his passion. He doesn't have any formal art education, drawing his success from his will to learn, his many years of experience, his commitment to work, all the mistakes and constructive criticism.
His inspiration comes from woods from his native Argentina. He reveres both. Each peace of wood renders a beauty impossible to duplicate. So he works with it and around it, creating pieces that respond to and showcase that beauty--the density, the texture, the color, the grain. His line of hand-carved products include desk accessories, knitting implements, mobile structures and, of course, jewelry.
Twenty years ago, he changed his path. His wife and children joined in. None regrets it.
Leonardo Evrard participates each year in the International Arts Fair in Cordoba and in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In addition, his works have been seen at FEARTE, in Curitiba, Brazil (1997), at FIA in Lisbon (2002 through 2004) and in Feria de Calpe in Spain (2002 through 2004).
